Revision Process of the CERTFOR Sustainable
Forest Management Standard for Plantations
August 2006 - January 2007
According to international endorsement procedures stipulated by CERTFORCHILE and required by the PEFC Council, SFM and COC standards must be periodically revised and updated. Since the world is constantly changing, it is only throughout this revision process that users and stakeholders can be ensured that standards are adjusted to the national forest reality.
The Revision Process of the Certification Standard takes place every five years from its start date. Since the CERTFOR standard for plantations was endorsed in January 2002, a new updated and improved draft that will respect transparency and participation values has been in preparation. It started last August. Several steps are to be completed.
