Bureau Veritas Certification Chile is accredited to certify CERTFOR standards

The Bureau Veritas Certification Chile accreditation by Chilean National Standards Organization INN is excellent news for the SFM Certification in Chile. The Bureau Veritas Certification Chile international company is authorized to act as a SFM and COC certifying body.
In addition, Bureau Veritas Certification Chile is authorized to use the CERTFOR Label. In addition to the CERTFORCHILE Label documentation, it also received its PEFC Logo Use License and registered under the international PEFC / 24-44-400 identification number.
Within the certification process, accreditation is a vital step since a recognized technical authority formally checks that the organization is competent in undertaking specific performance-based assessment activities in compliance with certification standards. Thus, INN officially recognized Bureau Veritas Certification Chile under the SGA 005 identification number to indicate that the organization complies with the INN standards and possesses all the necessary skills to issue certification based on CERTFOR standards in Chile.
CERTFORCHILE as any other international systems operating under the PEFC umbrella has no attribution for accrediting its certifying bodies. The accreditation process is independent from the CERTFOR Certification System: INN is in charge of the accreditation process. A certifying body that wants to get accredited to certify CERTFOR standards must comply with the Accreditation National System requirements.
INN is a member of IAF (International Accreditation Forum), IAAC (Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation), ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) and represents Chile to IOS (International Organization for Standardization) which is the main international standard-setting body that founded INN. In Chile, INN is part of the National Quality System (Sistema Nacional de Calidad). It is therefore recognized as an accredited auditor in Chile.
With such recognized accreditation, Bureau Veritas Certification Chile stands for one of the three accredited companies in the CERTFOR Certification system. Therefore it can be selected by woodland owners who want to certify their SFM or COC under the Chilean SFM Certification Standards.
