COURSE ON CROPS WOOD ENERGY

RockTenn (NYSE:RKT) announces that it has received triple chain/of/custody (CoC) certification for its Montreal, Quebec, Canada folding carton plant, formerly known as Wilco, Inc. THE CHAIN OF CUSTODY “AN ADDED PEACE OF MIND” FOR WOOD AND CUSTOMERS

CHESAPEAKE’S 28 EUROPEAN PAPERBOARD SITES BECOME FSC AND PEFC CERTIFIED
Packaging giant Chesapeake has completed its programme to certify all of its 28 paperboard sites in mainland Europe to FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody. It follows an increase in demand for certified paper and board that the company said has continued to grow as more brand owners develop specific environmental polices.

The CERTFORCHILE Corporation is a non profit organization that was created on April 2002; the certification system was endorsed by the PEFC Council on October 2005.
The Corporation has as principal aim administer the Chilean System of Sustainable Forest Certification, both for forest plantations and for natural forests. To achieve this intention, it recognizes the National Standards of the System of Certification CERTFOR; it establishes the contents by means of which the certified companies can use the logo; it needs the conditions of use of the logo; he promotes the National Standards; it confirms the National Standard with other initiatives of national and international certification and spreads his activities across academic events of extension.
Actually the system has 4 certification Standards, Sustainable Forest Management for plantations and Native forests, Group Certification and Chain of Custody.
The system has approximately 1.9 million certified hectares, covering near the 80% of the certified surface in the country, 27 Chains of Custody, and 26 PEFC Logo Licenses.
EVOLUTION AND TRENDS
As for the certification of forest management, the system has already covered most of the area to be certified, so that efforts are directed toward the new chains of custody, especially those who deliver services or have connections with the retail (market closer to final customers).
PEFC AND THE BIG TRADEMARKS IN CHILE
Among the big brands that occupy the logo are, Arauco, Quebecor World Chile, CMPC and LAN.
