PEFC COUNCIL 12th GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The 12th PEFC Council General Assembly will take place in Canberra, Australia on October 31th. At this meeting will attend all member of PEFC and will be treated as the main themes PEFC Report 2008, changes in documentation PEFC, changes of the membership of PEFC, PEFC Accounts, Elections, among others.

CERTFOR MFS’ CERTIFICATION TO FORESTAL ANCHILE LTDA. AND CERTFOR CDC’ CERTIFICATION TO MADERAS ANCHILE LTDA.
As a result of the audit process conducted by the Certification Body Bureau Veritas Certification Chile in September this year, Forestal Anchile Ltda. and Maderas Anchile Ltda. have obtained the certification of Sustainable Forest Management and Chain of Custody CERTFOR respectively. The licenses numbers are valid E-11 and E-10.

SGS SA CHILE SIGNS LICENSE FOR USE OF LOGO PEFC
The certifying body SGS Chile S.A. signed license with PEFC CERTFORCHILE. This will allow them to use the logo PEFC in either certificates issued, as well as promotional. Your License number is PEFC/24-44-300.

GLOBAL FOREST PAPER & PACKAGING INDUSTRY SURVEY
Already is available the study realized by PriceWaterhouse Coopers "Global Forest Paper & Packaging Industry Survey” conformed by the 100 companies leaders in sales of the forest industry, paper and packing. The study mentions subjects associated to the changes that have taken place in the industry in last times as new business opportunities, and establishes the importance of the forest certification in order to achieve a more sustainable future, being an advantage competitive and a standard for the industry.

FOREST CERTIFICATION IN CANADA AND AROUND THE WORLD
Forest certification has become a common practice for many forest product companies and forest management organizations around the world. There are approximately 310 million ha of forest certified to a variety of standards worldwide; and this represents approximately 10% of the world’s forests. Canada has 40% of all certified forest land in the world, more than any other country.

THE WORKSHOP "DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN 2009-2013” THE CORPORATION CERTFORCHILE
The workshop "Strategic Development Plan 2009-2013” was made on september 30th in the Corporation CERTFORCHILE. This workshop was attended by the constituent partners and set the main guidelines to be followed by the Corporation during the next few years. The plan will be approved at the next General Assembly of Members.

UU. and the European Union have been working to incorporate sustainable wood and control the illegal timber. The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) was founded in 1919 under the name of the Canadian Standards Association of Engineering (CESA), was the first organization in Canada, created to meet the needs of standardization of industries, government, consumers and the international market. It was officially transformed into the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) in 1994. He is currently the highest of standards development organization in Ca-nada. The CSA was admitted to the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), in 2005.
