Since its creation in 2002, the CERTFOR standard has been utilized to certify a consistently growing area of forests. Today, the system has a certified forest area of 1,8 million hectares, which makes it the main certification label in Chile and confirms the international trend.


In terms of Chains of Custody, the trend towards certification started in 2004. Numerous companies joined in 2005 as a result of stricter international demands in terms of labeling. To date, the system accounts for 19 certified Chains of Custody.
Because they are endorsed by PEFC, CERTFOR-certified companies can obtain their respective licenses to use the PEFC logo on their products and advertising materials. At the moment, the system has granted the following licenses:
